Becoming a Home Care Worker, require a certain kind of person; someone who genuinely want to help, enjoy being around people, is kind, compassionate and patient; but also, able to handle the spills and tribulations which can be expected at times with the job.
Our Home Care Workers are the expression of our ethos, so you must be kind, compassionate, patient and reliable, with a strong passion to help. As a Home Care Worker, you would be expected to care for the client in their own home and might have to carry out your responsibilities independently.
You could be called upon to assist with domestic duties, such as preparing meals, light housework and social support such as walking a dog. Experience is not vital but a strong passion to help others is required. Ideally, you should have access to a vehicle or be willing to travel between client’s homes on public transport.
